This describes what information DockAtlas collects when you use the site, how we use it, and who we share it with.

1. Information we collect

Account information: name, email address, and password (handled by our authentication provider — we never see your password in plain text).
Booking information: the slips, dates, and marinas you book or receive bookings for, and the price and status of each booking.
Marina information: if you administer a marina, its name, address, contact details, amenities, slip inventory, and connected Stripe account status.
Payment information: handled directly by Stripe. DockAtlas never receives or stores your full card number.

2. How we use this information

We use it to operate the marketplace: to create and manage your account, process bookings and payments, send transactional emails (like booking confirmations and cancellation notices), and provide support when you contact us.

3. How we share information

We don't sell your personal information. We share it only:

With the marina you book a slip at, so they can identify and honor your reservation — your name, contact details, and boat information relevant to the booking.
With service providers who help us run DockAtlas: Stripe (payments and payouts), Resend (sending transactional email), Supabase (hosting, database, and authentication), and Mapbox (map display on search).
If required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of DockAtlas or our users.

4. Cookies and sessions

DockAtlas uses a session cookie to keep you signed in. We don't use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

5. Data retention

We keep account and booking records for as long as your account is active, and afterward for as long as needed for legal, accounting, or dispute-resolution purposes — for example, booking and payment records related to a completed transaction.

6. Your choices

You can review and update your account information from your account page. To request a copy of your data, a correction, or account deletion, contact us using the details below.

7. Children's privacy

DockAtlas isn't intended for anyone under 18, and we don't knowingly collect information from children.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as DockAtlas changes. We'll update the date at the top of this page when we do.
